Checking Out Books

All students may check out 2 books at  a time.  The loan limit is one week, however books can be renewed for another week unless there is a hold on the book by another student.

Families are responsible for the books their children checkout. We send out notices throughout the year and notify families of lost books.

If you notice your child is not bringing home new library books, please ask to be sure all library books have been returned   on time.

How Many Books for How Long?

Students may have 2 books checked out at a time. Library materials are due back in one week, or may be renewed if there are no hold requests. Students will have time to checkout during their weekly library time as well as before school. Hours to be posted soon.

Lost Books

While there is no fine for overdue books, materials overdue by 30 days or more are assumed to be lost and a replacement fee will be assessed.  If a student misplaces a book and cannot find it, he or she will have to pay to replace the book. Paperbacks are $5 and Hardbacks are $15. If your child hasn't brought home library books, please ask him/her if they have returned all library books. A library team member will be in touch regarding lost books. If you feel our records are in error kindly email [email protected].

Damaged Books

Children will be taught how to care for books at the beginning of the school year. If a book is damaged during checkout, please do not try to repair damaged books. Have your child return the book to the library the  next school day. We have special materials that we use to repair books.
